Gwanda GEP Gardens Flourishing

A glimpse of the amazing work being done in Gwanda District by Hand in Hand Zimbabwe through the Green Enterprise project in Ward 14 Sengezane, Bethel village and Ward 20.

HiH Zimbabwe, in partnership with Hand in Hand Sweden, has supported farmers from the district with business trainings, fencing material for gardens, 200 beehives, fruit tree seedlings and four (4) solar-powered water pumps for the thriving gardens.

Farmers in the area have fully embraced the opportunities and are growing horticultural crops such as butternut, tomatoes, chomolia and beans, which they sell to the local markets. Each garden has provision of fodder bank and flourishing tree nurseries with a variety of indigenous and exotic tree species.
